ARCHIVED - 16th January to 1st March, Más Allá del Cuerpo exhibition by artist María Carbonell in Murcia
The exhibition is being held at the Centro Párraga for contemporary art in the city of Murcia
An exhibition of work by Murcia artist María Carbonell is being held at the Centro Párraga in the city of Murcia until 1st March under the title of “Más allá del cuerpo”, presenting an interesting look at the symbolism of contemporary art and the way in which nudity has been used throughout history as a form of protest.
Carbonell depicts both men and women in her paintings as in indication of her belief that the struggle for equality is one which involves both sexes, and around 30 works are on display at the centre for the contemporary arts in the regional capital.
María Carbonell is a native of Molina de Segura who graduated in Fine Art at the Universidad de Valencia in 2003. She has since exhibited not only in Murcia but also in Paris, Salamanca, Montreuil, Madrid and elsewhere.
The exhibition can be visited until 12th January 2020 in Espacio 2 and Espacio 3 at the Centro Párraga, from Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 20.00. No admission fee is charged.
