Los Alcázares prepares to showcase its attractions at the FITUR 2026 fair in Madrid

The Berber Pirate Raids fiestas, commitment to diversity and the de-seasonalization of tourism characterize the presentations made by Los Alcázares at the IFEPA venue in Madrid

Municipalities all over the Region of Murcia are currently preparing to strut their stuff at the annual FITUR tourism fair in Madrid, the largest event of its kind in the world, which is being held in 2026 from 21^st to 25^th January, and in the case of Los Alcázares the plans are to showcase an ambitious mix of the annual Berber Pirate Raids fiestas, the commitment to supporting diversity and the efforts to de-seasonalize tourism.

The fiestas of the Berber Pirate Raids are being held this year for the 25^th time, having been initiated 17 years after the municipality gained independence from San Javier and Torre Pacheco in 1983, and they are now a well-established event in the annual calendar of the Region of Murcia, attracting many thousands of visitors. The quarter-century edition is taking place between 2^nd and 5^th April, featuring the ever-larger medieval market, street entertainment, dramatic re-enactments which recreate the history of this part of Murcia and various innovations which have yet to be confirmed.

A presentation devoted to the fiestas will be made at the Region of Murcia stand in the IFEMA venue in Madrid on Friday 23^rd January at 14.00, and the municipality is also taking out its own stand in the “Pabellón de la Diversidad” to promote events such as the “El Mar Menor vibra con Orgullo” LGTBIQ+ pride festival, which is this year being held from 9^th to 12^th July. On the same stand efforts will be made to promote Los Alcázares as place of natural beauty, beaches, culture, music, leisure and experiences for all kinds of visitors.
