ARCHIVED - Mazarrón approves beach lifeguard services for summer 2021
The services will start from June 15 on three beaches in the municipality and from July 1, lifeguards will be present on all beaches
The Town Hall in Mazarrón has approved the annual contract for lifeguard services on the beaches for 2021, which will be starting from June 15.
The services will be provided by the company Offshore Special Services and aims to ensure the safety of beach users, on the sand and in the sea.
The lifeguarding staff will inform of any dangerous conditions and will provide healthcare if needed, administering first aid until the emergency services arrive and will also ensure that the correct warning flags are flown to protect bathers.
The green flag means that the conditions are optimal for being on the beach and in the sea, while the yellow flag signifies caution. The red flag means that swimming is prohibited, as doing so could be life-threatening.
From June 15 until June 30, will be on duty on Playa del Rihuete, Playa de la Reya and Playa de Bolnuevo (Oasis zone) from 11.30 am until 7.30 pm.
Later in the summer, from July 1 until August 31, all of the beaches in the municipality of Mazarrón will be monitored by lifeguards from 11.30 am until 7.30 pm. From September 1 until September 15, only Playa del Rihuete, Playa de La Reya, Playa del Castellar and Playa de Bolnuevo (Oasis zone) will remain open.
