ARCHIVED - Murcia Covid figures Weds. 8th July; 69 active cases
The number of cases related to the Bolivian outbreak has now risen to 46
The outbreak related to the flight from Bolivia on 3rd June in which three infected people landed at Madrid Barajas airport, continues to expand and on Wednesday eight more people have tested positive after coming into contact with positives relating to that case, bringing the total up to 46. Two more cases have been diagnosed relating to the arrival of illegal immigrants in small boats from Algeria, and 11 patients have been declared as having recovered from coronavirus, the net result being a drop in the number of active cases in the region to 69, five less than yesterday.
Of these 69, 52 are in home isolation and 17 in hospital, three of which are in intensive care.
The PCR tests carried out on Wednesday yielded six positives and 1,031 negatives, and the antibody tests four positives and 151 negatives.
The number of fatalities remains the same at 151, as there has been no change since Wednesday, July 1st, the date on which the death of an elderly woman from Moratalla was announced, also related to the aforementioned flight from Bolivia. This was the only death recorded since the 9th June.
