ARCHIVED - Saturday 30th November: Guided tour of Los Alcazares hydroplane airbase
This historic base was the first hydroplane airbase in Spain
On Saturday 30th November 2019 the La Ecocultural association of Los Alcázares is offering a tour of the historic hydroplane base in Los Alcázares, home to Spain’s first hydroplane unit, which began operations in 1915.
Although the tour is in Spanish, it is possible to print off our full report written about the airbase which will give some understanding of the importance of this base, which is still an operational military installation. ( Click Los Alcázares aeronautical museum)
Afterwards it’s possible to visit the museum opposite the base and see videofootage and images of the base when it was in operation.
The visits take place at 10.00 and last a couple of hours, with maximum group sizes of around 35 people, so reservation is essential.
The tour is in Spanish.
To book, email cultura.losalcazares@gmail.com or turismolosnarejos@gmail.com or call the Tourist Information Office to book on 968 582 119.
If emailing, please include full name, NIE number or passport number and date of birth as this is still an active military base.
