Alicante has been experiencing an unusually hot start to June, with temperatures well above the seasonal averages. This heatwave is caused by a mass of Saharan air moving in from Africa which promises more brilliant sunshine, warm days and nights, and only light breezes over the weekend.

 

Alicante can expect a warm and dry Thursday with hazy sunshine throughout the day, although it could become a little cloudier in the afternoon.

 

Daytime temperatures will reach a high of around 27ºC, while overnight lows will only drop to about 19ºC. Light breezes are also expected, making for generally pleasant conditions.

 

On Friday, the entire province will experience a mix of sunshine and occasional cloud cover. Despite some intervals of cloud, the day will remain mostly dry and comfortably warm with temperatures forecast to rise to around 30ºC.

 

The light winds will persist, becoming breezy in the evening.

 

Saturday will bring plenty of sunshine and clear skies across Alicante province. It will easily be the warmest day of the weekend, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 35ºC in parts. The night will be a bit stuffy, with a minimum temperature of approximately 20ºC.

 

Sunday is set to be another sunny and warm day, with plenty of sunshine throughout the morning and early afternoon. A light but noticeable breeze is expected to develop later in the day, especially near the coast.

 

Daytime temperatures will take a slight dip but the night-time temperatures will hold steady in and around 20ºC.
