October 16 to 18 Rueda inland tourism fair in Totana
The three-day event will bring together 24 municipalities and almost 50 experiences celebrating the Region's food, culture, traditions and landscapes

Totana will become a showcase for the inland charm of the Region of Murcia this October when the Rueda Inland Tourism Fair returns for its third edition, bringing together 24 municipalities for a weekend of food, culture, crafts, nature and local traditions.
The event runs from October 16 to 18, with Plaza de la Constitución in Totana’s old town transformed into a celebration of the places and experiences that sit beyond the Region's better-known coastal resorts.
Around 50 activities and experiences are planned throughout the three days, giving visitors the chance to discover everything from local gastronomy and traditional crafts to rural and ecotourism, active tourism, cultural heritage and family activities. Each participating municipality will have its own space at the fair, offering visitors an opportunity to find out more about what there is to see and do in different parts of the Region. Workshops will also be organised by the municipalities, tourism organisations, institutions and associations involved in promoting the Region's inland destinations.
The 24 municipalities taking part are Abanilla, Albudeite, Aledo, Alguazas, Alhama de Murcia, Archena, Blanca, Beniel, Bullas, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena, Cehegín, Ceutí, Cieza, Fortuna, Jumilla, Lorca, Lorquí, Molina de Segura, Moratalla, Mula, Puerto Lumbreras, Santomera and Totana.
Six of those municipalities are making their debut at Rueda this year, with Albudeite, Alhama de Murcia, Blanca, Bullas, Ceutí and Santomera joining the fair for the first time. Their participation brings the event to 24 municipalities and extends its reach across more of the Region.
Folklore will take centre stage during this year's special edition, with 24 groups from across the Region taking part in performances and a major parade celebrating Murcia's intangible cultural heritage. The programme will give visitors a chance to see traditional music, dance and customs from different communities gathered together in one place.Sunday will bring a traditional artisan market, which has been expanded this year to include local businesses alongside the craft stalls. There will also be treasure hunts designed for different age groups, encouraging families and other visitors to explore the fair while discovering more about the participating destinations.
A new space will give associations, organisations and institutions the opportunity to present their projects and explain the tourism initiatives they work on throughout the year.
Rueda forms part of the Region's efforts to promote its inland destinations and encourage visitors to explore areas that offer a very different experience from the traditional sun-and-beach holiday.
